The  Institute of Anthropology, Gender & African Studies, in Conjunction with the Anthropological Association of Kenya  and the MISFIRES Project at the University College Dublin presents to you a guest lecture:

The Department of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Nairobi, held the 5th Conference on the Status of African Women during the 5th UoN Research Week. This year's theme: Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Changing World of Work and Entrepreneurship During and After COVID-19.

The faculty of arts and social sciences was recognized during the performance and contracting awards through its various departments and the staff who work under it. This recognition was made to both teaching and non-teaching staff who have been exemplary in their performances.

The University of Nairobi held its Faculty and Campus Students Association (FCSA) annual elections. The elections were held virtually on Friday March 25th, 2022.

There were three teams competing for FCSA office in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FOASS; Team Success, Team Okuz and Team Integrity.

Team Integrity took the lead with a total of 1361 votes followed closely by Team Okuz with 1179 votes. The incoming Chairperson representing FOASS in FCSA is Peter Nguka.

Dr. Humphrey Jeremiah Ojwang, a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies has donated a monograph to the Library Department.  

The Department of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies held an alumni series talk event on 26th November 2021 whose theme was Anthropology and Customer Experience.
