The Institute of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies has initiated a collaborative training and research venture between Western Michigan University, University of Arizona and the University of Nairobi.

The research will be titled “Documenting the daily lives and wellbeing of pastoralist youth in Northern Kenya”

Mr. Khamati Shilabukha, a Research Fellow at the Institute, was one of the facilitators at the UNFPA/Anti-FGM Board Training in Nakuru from 15th-18th December 2014. The training was looking at the role and mandate  of the Board in regard to the Anti-FGM Act, cultural issues regarding FGM, policy issues around FGM, Strategic communication as well as resource mobilisation for FGM programming.
