Dr Onyango-Ouma was promoted to the post of associate proffesor at the Institute of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies with effect from 21st, December 2014.  He Holds  a PhD degree in medical anthropology. We at the Institute congratulate him  and wish him more success in his career.

Mr. Khamati Shilabukha, a Research Fellow at the Institute, was one of the facilitators at the UNFPA/Anti-FGM Board Training in Nakuru from 15th-18th December 2014. The training was looking at the role and mandate  of the Board in regard to the Anti-FGM Act, cultural issues regarding FGM, policy issues around FGM, Strategic communication as well as resource mobilisation for FGM programming.
