The Director, IAGAS, Dr. Owuor Olungah attended the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Huduma Centre launch on 11th January 2016.
Speaking during the event, Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration and Finance, Prof. Isaac Mbeche representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi said the Huduma Centre was a noble idea which added a lot of value to the University of Nairobi.
Huduma which means “service” in Kiswahili is part of a plan to fully digitize CHSS activities. The automated system is directly connected to various schools, departmental and faculty databases thus making it easy to access records. Some of the services to be offered include; Academic issues, procurement, Finance, Human Resource/Administration and general customer service enquiries.
Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs, Prof Henry Mutoro said the Huduma Centre will help cut bureaucracy and enhance problem solving in academic issues. On his part, CHSS Principal, Prof. Enos Njeru said Huduma Centre will offer on-spot services to members of staff, students and the public in an efficient and effective way.
ICT Centre Director, Mr. Ibrahim Otieno said the new system will Improve information flow and enhance access to timely information.
